Tania Mouraud
Artist refusing any attachment to a current or a dogma, Tania Mouraud has not stopped developing her work since the end of the 1960s, alternately exploring all sorts of disciplines – painting, installation, photography, performance, video, sound – around a constant principle: to question the relationship between art and social ties. She thus proposes to add a meditation room in standardised dwellings (1968). In the public space, on 4 x 3 m panels, she displays her disagreement with a society that glorifies having at the expense of the human being (1977). She reflects on the aesthetic relationship between art and war, and with the help of writing she examines the limits of perception, creating « words of form « * (1989). Since 1998, she has been using photography, video and sound in close connection with painting to question different aspects of history and the living.
